Y2 bake sale – school council

Dear Parents,

You will have had an email (or two) regards our bake sale tomorrow to launch the KS1 fundraising as suggested by the school council.

We are selling cakes (possibly from our classroom) at hometime tomorrow. We would be very grateful for any donations of cakes, buns etc you can send in the morning.

The other KS1 classes will be selling their cakes over the next few weeks so the children may ask for money to buy them.

Many thanks as always for your continued support.

Homework 18th January

Due to me not being in school this last week, the spelling and grammar homework is as follows:

Spelling pattern – verbs that end in an ‘e’ that isn’t heard, then we drop the ‘e’ at the end of the word and add the suffix ‘ed’ to make it the past tense.

poked, piled, trickled, waved, baked, chased, liked, used, cared, smiled

Grammar books – page 9 verb tense

Maths – Maths with Parents

Reading is as per the newsletter.

Homework

Please note that homework information is posted on the homework tab as per last term.

Lots of brilliant work in our first week back – hopefully the children are not too tired!

Photos next week.

Have a lovely weekend.

Happy New Year (and homework….)

We hope you are all having a wonderful holiday and a peaceful New Year.

We are very excited about coming back to school on Monday and looking forward to seeing you all and hearing about your holidays.

If you would like to know the homework…..If you have your spelling journal at home these are the spelling words for this Friday.

Spelling rule – if a word ends in two consonants add ‘ed’; if it has a short vowel and one consonant then double the consonant before adding ‘ed’

painted, hunted, patted, dropped, slipped, chopped, spotted, clapped, hummed, jumped

Any journals that are in school now and sent in on Monday I will put the sticker in. This is to be handed in on Friday if possible but please don’t worry if you don’t get an opportunity to complete it. We will be working on these spellings in class this week.

I think the last spellings in the journal had the incorrect date on – apologies for that. It was a busy couple of weeks!

Maths with Parents has been activated I believe.

Spag homework from the CGP book for Friday is pg 13 question marks and exclamation marks.

Have a lovely weekend and please don’t feel you have to do the homework before Monday! It is here for your information….
