Thank you

Thank you to everyone for the cards and gifts and particularly the excellent gift you clubbed together to buy. I’m looking forward to much more cycling (see below!) and running (honest) over the holidays.

Have a great summer!

Happy times lie ahead for Ms. Devitt as she heads out to new places, hopefully not getting quite so lost as she used to!

Our Park Trip

Here are a few photos from our lovely trip to the park on Tuesday.

We had great weather and had a fun afternoon together to celebrate the hard work we had all done.

Thank you so much to the children for their impeccable behaviour and to all of the adults who volunteered to help. It was a fabulous afternoon of fun.

Thank you to all of Y2!  A few people in the park commented on the wonderful behaviour of the children. You made us very proud.

Park Trip

On Tuesday 17th July Y2 will be going to the park, setting off from school at about 11.15/11.30 am. We will eat a packed lunch there and enjoy playing games and generally chillaxing for a while as a celebration of SATS being over and all our hard work.

If any parents would like to accompany us, you are most welcome. Please let Ms. Devitt know asap either via email or at school.

Let’s hope the weather forecast improves for Tuesday! It’s hard to believe we could have rain then after all the blazing sunshine…..!

Thank – you!

Plants in the local environment

Our final topic this year is all about plants and growing. Thank- you to all who have sent in such beautiful and interesting homework projects! We have learnt such a lot from each other. We have also been out and spotted plants in the environment of our school and discussed why they grow  there.

Our Totem Pole

We enjoyed making our exhibit for our end of topic Art Show last week. Our totem pole can still be seen in the school foyer! Well done Y2. We have had so many great comments from other classes and teachers about our work. We are all proud of our big team effort!

Amazing Science homework!

Thanks to all who brought in such amazing Science homework projects today. The children have once again shown what fantastic learners they can be at home and the learning was enriched by all their detailed observations and information.

Drama in Y2

Today in English Y2 presented a play in groups. They had to use their reading and memory skills as well as co – operating, compromising and being orgnised. They really enjoyed this and learnt a lot about how to work together and be resilient learners, plus the little play they presented was fun to watch!

Whole School Art Exhibition 6th July

This term we have worked hard on and enjoyed our Art topic,

‘Should Art make people happy?’

On Friday after school there will be a whole school exhibition in the hall where our sketching, painting, masks, clay tiles and totem poles will be on show!

Please come and see our creative work.

Here are some of our recent clay tiles.
