We are going to transform the book corner in the Y2 classroom! If you have any cushions you can spare we would welcome donations. Also any unwanted cuddly toys around a jungle theme – monkeys, parrots and snakes are particularly welcome!
This week the children are bringing home a few sheets with questions pitched at their level to practise over the rest of the half term and the holidays towards their Maths SATS paper which will be in May. Please can parents and carers take the time to support the children with the questions which can be tricky! Thank you all for your patience and hard work. The children know that this homework is not to be handed in until after the holidays.
Your child should have brought home some multiplication and division practice. Please can you give them a little support and assistance to get started. We are returning to multiplication and division after a long break, so we are just at the stage of remembering how to use our skills. However – a good week’s work has been done in class, and the children have coped really well with their assessments as well.
We’re already off to a good start. The children have really enjoyed their assembly with author Caryl Hart and they are busy writing songs about Dinosaurs to the tune of The Wheels on the Bus! Plus they are making their own Dinosaur Chomper. We are going to have a whole day of fun creativity in school.
