Road Safety Week in Y2

This week we have refreshed our knowledge of what it means to stay safe when crossing the road especially at this darker time of year. We enjoyed the visit from our road safety officer this week. We also enjoyed experimenting with torches and reflective jackets and explaining what helps to keep us safe, and the difference between a reflective object and a light source.Digital Camera

We love drumming!

Y2 had a brilliant time drumming and singing with Mr Elliot, Lucy’s dad this morning. They showed a great sense of rhythm. Mr Elliot recorded the performance but unfortunately it isn’t possible to upload the sound file onto the blog! Maybe teh children can give a demonstration at home of the rhythms they used.

Shadow Puppets

We began our look at our Science topic Light and Dark, and our D&T topic by making a spooky shadow puppet yesterday. We worked hard on our cutting skills. It made the dark afternoon a lot of fun to have our own puppets to begin to make stories and experiment with light and shadow.
