National Science Week 9th – 18th March

If any parents of our class have a particular professional interest/connection with Science (Engineers are also welcome!) then please could you consider coming in to talk to the class in Science Week (9th – 18th March) about your job or some aspect of it? Thank –  you!

Tasty Topic Work!

Today in our English lesson we connected our learning to our Topic work. Soon we are going to write our diary as a Mumbai shanty town child and we are thinking of the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Mumbai. Trying some chapatis, poppadoms and Basmati rice helped us to imagine our daily food in Mumbai.

to see Sagar’s day. Sagar is a poor boy in Mumbai.

The big question in our topic is, ‘How can technology improve life for some people in India?’ and looking at the movie of Sagar for the first time, the children in Y2 have already come up with some ideas. This shows excellent thinking skills. We look forward to some great topic work after half term and towards our exhibition day.

The Topic Homework project this term is connected to our Geography topic ‘India.’  This will be to research an aspect of India e.g. its animals, art, famous buildings, music and to make a piece of artwork or a model, or to write and draw/use computer images to represent it. All work will be shown in our class exhibition event next half term (14 3 18).
