There is no homework for half term, except to practise reading regularly.We will enjoy a well earned break and come back refreshed and ready to tackle our learning once again next half term.

Homework W.E. 17 10 14
The children will be bringing home some basic practice work on addition this week on a sheet.

SATS Information Evening
There will be a KS1 SATS Information Evening in Ms Devitt’s classroom at 7pm next Wednesday 22nd October. Please come along if you wish to find out more about the SATS tests in Reading, Writing and Maths.
Walk to Millhouses Park
Just a reminder that the Y2 class will be walking to Millhouses Park to spend the afternoon doing their geography fieldwork tomorrow, Friday 17th October. Let’s hope it is not as wet as it has been! Thank you to all who have volunteered to come with us tomorrow.

This week for homework can the children use the programme Calculation Balance on our website. It’s under online resources>mathematics.
Please can they practise with + and -bonds to 10 and 20 as this is a basic element of their Maths knowledge which they can use in mental calculations in class and in working out bigger calculations.
Thank – you for all the homework done so far and handed in. There is no homework on paper this week.
Human Crane Algorithms
Year 2 have been learning about algorithms (sequence of instructions) in Computing and how to write and test algorithms. This week we have been human cranes and writing algorithms to carry blocks from one container to another. Have a look at some of our algorithms below.
